Internet of Things ( IoT)

Internet of things fusing real and cyber world.
IoT : Fusing the real and cyber world

The term "Internet of Things (IoT)" was coined by Kevin Ashton in 1999. Internet of  Things (IoT) describes the network of physical objects (things) that are embedded with sensors for collecting data, software and other technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices over the network without requiring human to human or human to computer interaction.

When a device is connected to the internet that means it can send or receive information or both. This ability makes the device smart and better. IoT works in following ways-

Device having some hardware and sensors collect the data. The data collected by sensors is then shared via cloud and integrated with software. The software then analyzes and transmits the data to users via an app or website. IoT can also make use of artificial intelligence ( A I ) and machine learning to making data collecting processes easier and more dynamic.

IoT is not separate from internet, but an expansion of it- a way of intelligently fusing the real and cyber world. The IoT connects endless devices to the internet and uses a large volume of information, which need to be secured. Sometimes industries that make and distribute IoT devices to the consumers, can use those devices to obtain and sell user's personal data. Due to this IoT securities and IoT privacy are major concerns with this growing technology.
